The highly anticipated arrival of Chad Adams to Oriental in Pamlico County drew quite a crowd.  Facing nearly 40 members of the Pamlico County Republican Women’s club, Chad brought big city news, updating them on current taxing practices and high-level scandals involving the Governor. Don Carrington continues to be on the edge of this story, and other papers are right to give Carolina Journal a piece of the credit. Of less interest to the press, though equally as scandalous, is that the House and Senate have passed their budgets.  Joe Coletti has responded, telling listeners in Asheville on Matt Mittan’s show that, despite a $2.4 billion surplus, spending has increased and will likely be continued in years to come. In the Raleigh area, Rick and Donna Martinez, filling in for Bill LuMaye this Tuesday on WPTF, had, among other guests, Americans for Prosperity’s Francis DeLuca and the Common Sense Foundation’s David Mills on to discuss the state budget.
