The John Locke Foundation continues to exert impact on newspaper opinion pages. Research Intern Alex Pitsinos took aim in The Washington Post this week at faulty arguments about the number of uninsured Americans. Meanwhile, two letter writers unconnected to the Locke Foundation nonetheless quoted the organization’s work in recent submissions. A letter in the Jacksonville Daily News cited JLF research about the growth rate within Onslow County government. Meanwhile, a letter to the Belmont Banner News cited JLF research into transportation topics. (I would like to discuss a report David Hartgen wrote about traffic in our area for the John Locke Foundation. The report is dated March 2007. … [B]ased on the fact that we are in a terrible
recession, our education system has been cut drastically, there is no
money to finish the road, and the findings in Mr. Hartgen’s report, I
believe the only logical conclusion is to oppose the Garden Parkway.
