The world’s largest Wal-Mart
opened last Wednesday in Rockingham, NC. Word from a friend who was at
the opening was that 1,000 people were lined up waiting to get in. Said
one person, quoted in the Richmond County Daily Journal, at Tuesday night pre-grand opening celebration:
“It’s fantastic,” said Helen Hammond of Cheraw, S.C., of the new
supercenter. “It’s so big. It has everything. I like the wide aisles
and the prices look good.”
While many so-called elites of this country look down their noses at Wal-Mart, its many customers are not so conflicted.
