Center City Partners, the who’s who of the Uptown crowd, is being sued by a Matthews photographer for copyright infringement. In court documents filed earlier this month, Robert Klein says Center City Partners repeatedly used his copyrighted work without permission or credit.

Klein also claims that the group used his work for commercial purposes in violation of a 2002 verbal agreement not to do so. And on one occasion credit for the work was given to an individual other than Klein.

In September 2003 Klein withdrew Center City’s permission to use his any of his 226 photos, but the group continued to do so right through June 2005, Klein claims.

The photographer is seeking any gains Center City may have made via his work as well as unspecified damages. Center City Partners has yet to respond to the merits of the case.

Update: Klein is the husband of Center City chief operating officer and senior VP for communications Moira Quinn.
