The commissioners approved a resolution to partner with the National Park Service to create an overlook of the City of Asheville from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Phil Francis with the park service explained that federal funds had dwindled and volunteerism was iffy. It was therefore really important for taxpayers to help at the local level as well as the federal level to get the narcissistic clearcut to interrupt miles of near pristine Mother Nature.
The resolution was only one of intent. If the past is any indicator, the intentions will be construed by future commissions as commitments.
