Writing on NRO, Brian Riedl has an excellent piece arguing that the Democratic move to lower interest rates on student loans is nothing but political grandstanding. A slightly lower monthly payment on a student loan won’t get more students into and through college, even if that were an important national goal.
As I have argued here getting more students into and through college should not be a national goal at all.
