While Wachovia Bank economist Mark Vitner was praising MARTA, NC Policy Watch was reporting the results of its latest poll in which included this line in a question about transportation policy: ?Q4 Some people say that if North Carolina?s growing metro areas are going to avoid the sprawl and pollution problems of places like Atlanta, expanded bus service and light rail must be a part of the solution.? [Emphasis added]

I?m left wondering how Atlanta can be both a model and a menace to supporters of public transit. I don?t like cognitive dissonance. Somebody please help.
