Eric Smith is out as superintendent of Anne Arundel County schools, the suburban Maryland district he landed in after leaving CMS in 2002. The Anna Arundel teachers did not like Smith and there were questions about how money was spent, so CMS and Smith continue to have a lot in common.

Teachers are so distrusted by the CMS administration that entire teams of full-time “testing coordinators” are used to handle all standardized tests, right down to teachers being banned from even entering the coordinators’ work rooms, ie, classrooms they’ve usurped in order to watch TV on the vast number of days during which no testing takes place.
