A New York Times article on Medicaid fraud teaches a few of the many tricks of the trade. There is talk about the Feds going in and getting their money back, but I have a feeling that the money that it will take to prosecute all this will cost even more, so it’s likely a lose-lose for taxpayers. We’ve long rejected the idea that the state should own the tools of production; stories like this (even in NY Times!) may show that it is time to reject the idea that the state should own our tools of charity.
