The season opener for the Panthers is now certain to be a huge media event. We’ll have PETA protesters, ESPN reporters, maybe even Jesse Jackson. All because Mike Vick will be a member of the visiting Philadelphia Iggles.
Kinda makes perfect sense that Andy Reid, the Iggle coach who has watched his sons cycle through several scrapes with the law, would roll the dice on Vick. Not clear to me how Vick makes Philly that much better, if at all., however. But if Reid wants to deal with the cyclone of attention that comes with Vick, that’s up to him.
I just hope the Panthers come out on top as Vick watches from the sidelines at Bank of American stadium.
