Let’s look at this logically. Is it a good thing to consolidate the ABC boards of Jackson County and the Town of Sylva? That all depends on whether or not a 60-40 split of profits is fair, and that depends on whether the city or the county is hustling more to get people to buy booze. Perhaps we can get both governments to create permanent positions for promoters to launch “drink responsibly” campaigns.
And while we’re at it, if local craft brewers are selling their goods in ABC stores, maybe painters can benefit. You know, the brewers drive trucks that have to negotiate the parking lots, and it will be so much better for the symbiotic relationship between brewers and painters if we could sign resolutions requesting no further regulations of any kind – on parking space stripes at ABC stores.
