Daren Bakst‘s quest to end the state’s abuse of residents’ property rights has mushroomed.  Following many Spotlights and speeches, and the perpetual prodding of Becki Gray, the legislature held a public hearing on forced annexation. Becki spoke at this hearing, while Daren handed out his Spotlight to the crowd. If real reform is to happen, it will come from the grass roots. Reaching them is hard; but talk radio helps. Daren reached out on Bill LuMaye. So does a good news story. With forced annexation getting its day in the sun, eminent domain reform continues to trickle through the legislature.  This issue has strength across the nation, as is evidenced by John Stossel’s story on ABC News.com, which makes use of George Leef‘s Freeman piece on the importance of the Supreme Court’s decision in Kelo v New London in birthing this movement.
