It is cruel to criticize charity because it isn’t perfect. So, here I go again. 95 kids from Cherokee County got to shop with a cop, spending $100 each in Walmart. The store paid for the experience. What is disagreeable is the idea that low-income children need to get goodies from sworn, gun-toting officers in order to learn they are employed to help good people and buck troublemakers. Something there is that feels awry about justice kissing up.
