It is official: Rodney Monroe is the new chief of police for Charlotte-Mecklenburg. I think it is a good hire. But only time will tell.
By far the least interesting thing about Monroe is that he is the first African-American chief of CMPD.
Kudos to all the folks who came out to the public events to make their feelings known on this hire.
