WFAE nailed Mayor Anthony Foxx down a little better on the funds needed to bring the Democratic convention to Charlotte in 2012. Make it $45m. with at least $10 to $15m. needed to conventionize Time Warner Arena.
That number will be hard to get from strictly private sources — but not impossible. None of the other finalists have an obvious advantage on that front. Exactly like the NASCAR Hall, the Uptown crowd has already decided they will do anything for this deal. That kind of license is very liberating.
