So far Wake County families are facing another $450 in direct government-imposed and it?s not even June.
Wake County will raise taxes $72 for a family in the average home. The state will continue ?temporary taxes? costing that family another $80. A new assessment to pay for a high-risk health insurance pool will eventually cost that family as much as $96. Now the General Assembly wants to add a mandate for insurers to cover mental health care in the same way they cover other health care, which will add up to $200 more for that family.
