This is a story that would have gotten you kicked out of journalism school in my day. It’s all squishy guilt by association, using sources who are political enemies of Sarah Palin to smear her with charges of racism because she didn’t truck with left-wing grievance politics, and burying rebuttal comments at the bottom of the story. It’s fun watching just how low The Associated Press can go. We have not yet hit bottom, folks.
Exit question: Why does AP identify Palin’s communications director, Bill McAllister, as “part black.” Wouldn’t that apply to Barack Obama, as well?
