This is a great story on the REAL heat wave, the one that took place in 1930:

“From June 1 to August 31, 1930, 21 days had high temperatures that
were 100 degrees or above” in the metropolitan Washington, D.C., area, Patrick Michaels,
senior fellow for environmental studies at the libertarian Cato
Institute, told Cybercast News Service. “That summer has never been
approached, and it’s not going to be approached this year.”

and then this great headline from USA Today:  Hurricane season defying forecasts

The
“defying” mentioned is because of the LACK OF storms.  The real
shock here is that there is no need for a shock.  We have hot
years, cold years, hurricane years and then normal years.  It’s
just easy to believe when it’s hot that there’s some reason for it
other than it’s SUMMER.  I’ll bet Environmental Defense and other
alarmists organizations love “heat waves” as much as air conditioning
vendors.  The hotter, the more panic about global warming, the
more likely slightly unbalanced prosac users are to donate money to
you.

They’ve probably even consulted their secular crystal gods and held special rituals hoping for more heat and hurricanes.

 Adding
to Sanders’ “well duh” news blurbs, we might consider having examples
posted of other NEWS of panic that  doesn’t live up to the hype
over time.

Y2K,  going to be horrible, then nothing to it, then government gets the credit for fixing it in time.

Saccharine, good for you, then causes cancer, now good for you again. .

Hybrids, good for the environment, then dangerous batteries will kill you, now good for the environment

Ditto for Microwaves, good for cooking food, might hurt your kids, now they’re fine again.

Other?

HT to Mickael Crichton for the Y2K and Saccharine
