The Graduate Students Union at UNC, in conjunction with the Groundskeepers and Housekeepers, all “low-paid workers essential to the university” are staging a teach-in (featuring Barbara Erenreich!) on September 23 from 12-2.
Please, correct me if I’m wrong, but last I checked, grad students are getting their tuition waived, complete medical care and child care and getting paid all for furthering their education. To me, that doesn’t really sound like they are getting “nickel and dimed” by the man.
