Alamance County Sheriff Terry Johnson will meet with ICE officials regarding the use of tasers at the county’s dentention center.

Sheriff’s spokesman Randy Jones says the use of tasers is “non-negotiable” but assumes some sort of agreement will be reached at the Aug. 28 meeting.

For what it’s worth, the Department of Homeland Security notes that the sheriff’s department and its officers “have been valuable partners to ICE,” processing “more than 1,100 potentially removable criminal aliens from Alamance County.”
