State records show that the man CMPD charged with a Statesville Road murder on Monday spent several years in prison on a felony assault with a deadly weapon charge. Fisgerald Demont Kilgo, 23, was charged with the murder of Drew McDonald Thompson. Kilgo was on probation up until March 9th of this year.
On that day Kilgo was arrested and charged with several more felonies involving forgery. He was released from the Mecklenburg County jail on April 20th and evidently was awaiting trial on those charges.
