While most of the media was bending itself into pretzels to ignore NY Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s Democratic Party label, the wire services Reuters and Agence France-Presse decided to hell with it and went all the way from omission to commission:

Perhaps the folks at Reuters are avid AFP readers. For they have today — following AFP’s Fred Astaire lead — labeled Spitzer as an (R).
The media just can’t surprise us anymore.
