Since the recent release of the movie Won’t Back Down, there seems to be added interest to exactly what rights parents have when it comes to their children’s education. The Center for Education Reform in Washington DC evaluates every state in their PARENT POWER INDEX. North Carolina rates #31 for PARENT POWER in the United States. Check out other states with more parent power like Indiana, Florida, Ohio (number #1,#2, #3) There is a lot of work to do in our state to give Parents REAL power in their children’s education.
