Yesterday, the editors of the Charlotte Observer published an editorial complaining about the John Locke Foundation’s billboard campaign that encourages teachers to score a $500 raise by dropping their North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE) membership.  The editors called the billboards a “cheap political stunt.”

Amusingly, the NCAE posted a photo of one of their cheap political stunts, a rally in downtown Raleigh that forced most public schools to close for the day. I believe that photo is from the 2018 walkout because the 2019 event had far fewer participants.
