You are invited to a sign-making party tomorrow in preparation for Asheville’s version of the April 15 Tea Party. This being Asheville, I’m inclined to run my own counter-protest. We’re all about equal-time, aren’t we? Slogans that would go good on poster boards and bumper stickers might include:
Raise taxes now
Control me!
Promote master-slave relationships
Crash the dollar
Double the federal deficit
Don’t let us think
East Germany had it goin’on
Tax to the max
Legislate private-sector failure and take over the boardrooms
Only politicians should get perks
Support Directive 10-289
Cut our lifeline
Complicate the tax code
Pass more laws
Stop working and hope
