Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Darrel Stephens will retire March 1. This means Stephens will join former City Manager Pam Syfert and CATS CEO Ron Tober in leaving their long-time city government posts within a year of each other.
Charlotte city manager Curt Walton will start looking for a new police chief in the coming weeks. Presumably after he hires a replacement for Tober.
