Let’s demonize Ingles. They are in the news for declaring a cash dividend. They were profitable! The little greedy fatcats gave money to their rich, capitalist, shareholding monsters! Wist they not they are not compliant with the new, hopey changey American paradigm of operating at a loss? What business do they have touching even a penny of that money that government created for all of us until every single mom, food-insecure child, addled crack fiend, unemployed juggler, victim of oppressive pigmentation, profligate Leslee, and all the rest of us has our fill?
They need to up their corporate gifting. Can’t we regulate them into donating to their scrappy competitors? The economic multipliers will pave the streets with gold while the unintended consequences would only make people eat slimy bologna.
Don’t laugh. I once worked for a corporation where one of the higher-ups didn’t want to do business with a potential partner because their mission statement said they wanted to be profitable.
