I’m just looking for more information on the story only WSJS has reported so far —- that an envelope containing a suspicious white powder was sent to Rep. Virginia Foxx’s Clemmonsville office yesterday.

The suspicious substance turned out to be baby powder, but it was obviously meant to be a sick joke. But compare and contrast that to the e-mail joke about President Obama that’s making headlines and prompting an apology from Greensboro Police Chief Tim Bellamy. Yeah, when you send such an e-mail to the media, you should expect headlines, but I can only imagine just how eager the N&R was to get this story out there.

You know what I think? Local media just don’t like Virginia Foxx. The American Spectator, however, says Foxx’s proposal to make the regulatory state more transparent is a breath of fresh air.

Update: WGHP reports on the suspicious envelope.
