Back from a long Thanksgiving holiday. I realize a lot of this is old news, but I’m just catching up on my reading. Here’s what I’ve got:

Guilford County Schools Superintendent Mo Green defends his decision to hire former Char-Meck PR pro Nora Carr; Green’s biggest fan, the N&R, is predictably non-committal…

The N&R’s editorial also half-questions the necessity of Greensboro City Manager Mitchell Johnson’s new assistant city manager for communications, citing Johnson’s desire “to change the culture” in city government; meanwhile, the Rhino’s John Hammer says Johnson “has caused more turmoil in city government than 10 EEOC complaints”…..

N.C Secretary of Cultural Resources Libba Evans has gone missing…

Organized labor wonders what it’s sweat’s gonna get from Kay and Bev; remember Hagan was a bit confused about collective bargaining for public employees during the Senate campaign;

The N&R’s Mark Binker says the Jordan Lake Rules –which could cost Greensboro taxpayers tens of millions of dollars— are heading for a showdown in the General Assembly; he quotes city water resources director Allan Williams as saying the rules put “a gun to the heads of cities”…..

…Last but not least, the Rhino reports GCS’ construction advisory committee “is being drawn into a review of hundreds of pages of design specifications for new schools, possibly losing its focus on reducing the cost of schools.” Big surprise.

OK, I’m caught up.
