Burlington Times-News reports:

Plans to allow mobile food vendors in downtown Gibsonville have come to a screeching halt.

The Gibsonville Board of Aldermen unanimously decided against holding a public hearing to allow food trucks and mobile food vendors in various zoning districts and amending its current ordinances during its Monday meeting.

“I am not in favor of it,” Mayor Pro Tem Mark Shepherd said. “At this particular time, I am not in favor of changing the ordinance. So I’d say not to set the public hearing.”

Restaurant owners opposed amending the ordinance, which was requested by Narciso M. Salas of El Taco Caribe.
