Just kidding.

A recent AP report let the country know how low we go.

The AP reports on a new U.S. Department of Education study that compared state testing standards to the national NAEP tests. As you can guess, North Carolina’s standards earned bottom feeder status. According to the study,

Eighth-graders in North Carolina had to demonstrate the least knowledge to be considered proficient readers, while students in Wyoming had to show the most knowledge.

In anticipation of this, the State Board of Education put together a special committee to study the state testing program. They have a lot of work to do.
