In North Carolina last week, Martin Sheen was campaigning for Beth Troutman, the Democratic challenger to Rep. Robin Hayes and a longtime production staffer at NBC?s ?The West Wing.? Speaking to a Richmond County crowd, Sheen complained that ?Republican males? dominate Congress, with the emphasize decidedly on the ?males.?
But Sheen was actually speaking at a fundraiser for state Rep. Wayne Goodwin, who is running for Labor Commissioner against Cherie Berry, the incumbent. She?s a Republican woman on a Council of State that is otherwise entirely Democratic and, save for one other member, entirely male.
