Triangle Business Journal reports on October air cargo numbers out of Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
Enplaned cargo totalled 5.7 million pounds, down 21 percent from October 2010, according to the statistics. About 7.7 million pounds of shipped cargo was unloaded at the airport, down 21 percent from October 2010.
Monthly cargo numbers at the airport have been consistently below year-earlier levels, a worrisome trend because cargo volumes typically are considered a leading economic indicator.
