But the Chronicle of Higher Education (subscriber site) today reports that the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill raised $17 million ($17,000,000.00) in private gifts in a month.

Of course, this doesn’t change the fact that the taxpayers need to be even more on the hook than they are presently to keep this behemoth operable.
