During yesterday’s opening monologue, Rush Limbaugh gave a good lecture reminding us of the fact that absolutely nothing is free. So it stands to reason that if the automakers are going to accept federal bailout money, then they should —– Rush’s favorite expression these days—– bend over and grab their ankles.

But you still have to wonder about the Obama administration’s mindset of imposing stricter regulations on a struggling industry so vital to the nation’s economy and —of all things —holding the bankrupt state of California up as a model.

And guess what —-Eco-Rep. Pricey Harrison wants North Carolina to fall in line, saying she doesn’t “think anyone wants to impose any hardship on the automobile industry, but it seems to me they ought to be moving this way anyway.”

This is getting very interesting, very quickly, and I’m not sure people know exactly what they’re doing.
