I realize offering endorsements for at large seats in a crowded Greensboro City Council primary is problematic, but the N&R gives its best shot. No surprise that former Mayor Yvonne Johnson —described as “typically gracious dignified” — makes the cut, while incumbent Danny Thompson –described as “part of the group of four who have shown disregard for residents’ concerns about the landfill”—- did not.

Nor did the Rhino endorse Thompson, citing his changing stories regarding campaign finances. Ed Cone takes note of the endorsement of Bill Knight for mayor despite reservations, in the process questioning John Hammer’s call for “more of the same.”

But what would you call Yvonne Johnson, Tom Phillips and Robbie Perkins?
