Readers to this blog know how much I respect Antiplanner’s opinion. Mind you, Antiplanner’s no fan of George Bush’s. and I honestly wasn’t sure which way he was going to swing in the election. Indeed he stated “my heart wants Obama to win, but my head tells me he will be a disaster for our economy — and right now the economy appears to be the most serious issue of this particular moment in time.” So he went with McCain.
With that in mind, there’s no Antiplanner will keep a close eye on Obama’s big-government policies. Right off the bat, he wonder if Obama will declare war on the subrurbs, focusing on — you guessed it— the proposed ‘Office of Urban Policy.’ And who do you suppose is offering up ideas on “the design and implementation of new, cutting-edge policies?” None other than former HUD Secretary Henry Cisneros, who knows a thing or two about, well, housing and urban development.
