In addition to its impact on health care, taxes, and the economy, the 201o federal health care reform law — Obamacare — has major implications for religious liberty.
Eric Kniffin, legal counsel for the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, discussed those implications during a presentation today for the John Locke Foundation and the Federalist Society. Kniffin focused specifically on lawsuit challenging the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ mandate that religious groups fund contraceptives in their employees’ health care coverage. But he also addressed the larger issue of the Obama administration’s approach to religious liberty. In the video clip below, Kniffin discusses the administration’s recent arguments about religious liberty before the U.S. Supreme Court.
