Worse, Oblinger and Nielsen’s discussion of state paid legal defense for Nielsen shows they expected the Grand Jury investigation of Mary Easley’s fake job to turn toward Nielsen. Why is that?
But most of all, the fact that Oblinger would actually lie about the payments for Nielsen reveals him to be an idiot. State business — even by North Carolina’s banana republic-style disclosure laws — is the public’s business. You can delay, but you cannot hide.
