If you missed George Clooney’s profanity- and vulgarity-ridden post on the Huffington Post entitled “I am a liberal. There I said it!” ? well, too bad. It has already disappeared down the Internet memory hole (except for a Google cache of FeedFinder’s preview, of which I took a snapshot).
Mind you, it was a real chest-beater. The Daily Kos raved about it:
Thanks to George Clooney for having the balls to speak out, moreso than Democratic politicians. How embarrassing it is to be a liberal and to have to hide from the word.
I have my own theory as to why “liberals” hide from the word.
Nevertheless, today’s CNN article on the Clooney blog is hilarious ? especially in the context of that particular praise of Clooney. It’s entitled Clooney: I didn’t write blog entry:
The newly minted Oscar winner says he did not write a blog posted Monday on commentator Huffington’s Web site, though he gave her permission to use a compilation of his critiques of the Iraq war from interviews with Larry King and London’s The Guardian.
“Miss Huffington’s blog is purposefully misleading and I have asked her to clarify the facts,” Clooney, 44, said in a statement issued Wednesday. “I stand by my statements but I did not write this blog.”
