OK, I had to look it up, too—- last year seems so long ago. But funny this N&R post on Guilford County commissioners questions use of hotel-motel tax money for a downtown performing arts center would didn’t mention the fact that Matt Brown (with the City Council’s approval of course) borrowed $24 million for the most recent Greensboro Coliseum facelift just in time for the ACC Tournament.
Indeed ‘it remains to be seen’ if commissioners will accept City Finance Director Rick Lusk’s explanation about where the hotel/motel tax goes. Let’s hope not.
