Hoggard and Cone link to Jordan Green’s Yes!Weekly article on environmental problems at the Canada Dry building, with Hoggard calling it “the best reporting Ihave seen on this issue.” Forget whatever people might conclude about the N&R’s coverage of the issue. The question remains why we are reading about it in the local alt-weekly instead of the daily paper of record.

For what it’s worth, the Rhino’s John Hammer also took a pass on the environmental issues, instead choosing to simply lampoon last week’s hoopla:

Coliseum Director Matt Brown led the fast break with an unfortunate bit of hyperbole. Brown began by saying, “As you elected officials you have before you a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity….” It can’t be once in a lifetime because the council had the same opportunity at a lower asking price last year. The price has gone from $3.2 million to $3.7 million.”

This supposedly was a hot piece of property a five years ago, yet no private developer could make it work, for whatever reason. So the city’s going to step in and make it work. Perhaps, Tattoo. Perhaps.
