Part of the reason the Bobcat’s are struggling this year is simply Sam Vincent’s inexperience as a head coach. Rick Bonnell sums up nicely Vincent’s recent yo-yoing:

The week started with Charlotte Bobcats coach Sam Vincent saying he needed to play Raymond Felton less at shooting guard and figure out how best to pair Emeka Okafor and Nazr Mohammed.

The week ended with Vincent starting Felton at shooting guard and never playing Okafor and Mohammed together against the Orlando Magic.

Lovely. Great way to build team chemistry. And sure to gain the respect of your players too. And to take it a step further, with the Bobcats at a critical phase in their existence, Vincent’s learning on the job is not contributing to making the Bobcats an economically viable enterprise.

Bonus Observation: Not a good sign when you trade for a player during the season and don’t know how to use him.
