N.C. Spin television viewers statewide will see Becki Gray again this week. The John Locke Foundation’s Vice President for Outreach joins John Hood on the program’s expert panel. They discuss North Carolina’s pursuit of federal education dollars, an investigation of the SBI’s crime lab, privatization of the state’s Alcohol Beverage Control program, and banning cell-phone use in cars. Meanwhile, Gray continues to offer candidate policy briefings. This week, she traveled to Wilmington in connection with the JLF Headliner luncheon featuring Cal Thomas. On the other end of the state, a congressional candidate posted photographic evidence of Gray’s recent candidate briefing in western North Carolina. Speaking of road trips, Bertie County Republicans heard an update this week on state government controversies, including the fight over school history curriculum changes, courtesy of John Locke Foundation communications director Mitch Kokai. The Roanoke-Chowan News Herald mentioned Kokai’s appearance at the Bertie GOP’s annual convention. In other news, the Web site Ballot Access News noted the John Locke Foundation’s participation in a legal brief connected with the Libertarian and Green parties’ challenge of North Carolina’s ballot restrictions.
