John Hood, Joseph Coletti, and John Locke Foundation Vice President for Communications Jon Ham all spoke at last weekend’s Eastern Tea Party Summit in Wilmington. Hood delivered one of the featured presentations during the opening night’s session, while Coletti discussed health-care issues and Ham discussed public corruption in North Carolina during Saturday’s breakout sessions. Ham also participated in the two-hour radio town hall summit WLTT broadcast in connection with the event. Vice President for Outreach Becki Gray also took part in the Wilmington summit. Lockwood Phillips interviewed her on WTKF Radio during the summit. Speaking of Gray, she joins Hood again this week as a panelist on the syndicated N.C. Spin television program. They discuss the N.C. House’s consideration of the state budget, a management shuffle at the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services, and privatization of state services. N.C. Senate Republicans also promoted Gray’s recent Carolina Journal Online Friday interview about the impact of the 2010 legislative elections on North Carolina’s redistricting process. In other news, N.C. History Project Director Troy Kickler discussed tax protests in North Carolina and the state’s Tea Party history during a presentation Wednesday to the Wilmington Rotary Club. Kickler and Daren Bakst collaborated on a commentary about Federalist No. 23 that appears today at Janine Turner’s ConstitutingAmerica.org website.
