An elderly care home has been operating in Henderson County without a license. It doesn’t matter that the families of clientele say Sharon’s Place delivers superior care. A facility can give grandma the wrong meds so long as they get a precious certificate showing they can and do transfer money to the state.

Well, head honcho Sharon Holcombe says she tried to get that piece of paper, but it was denied because her Place was a manufactured home. Now, to show how important that piece of paper and the guidelines spelled out for procuring it are, the Henderson County Commissioners unanimously voted to invoke:

. . . the full force of the county attorney’s office to investigate this matter – reminding them that they’re working for [us] and not the DSS – and come back to us at the next meeting with some options to try and help these folks.
