Paul Coble, chairman of the Wake County commissioners, has written to the Wake school board — whose Democratic Party board majority fired Superintendent Tony Tata last week — that the decision to fire Tata leaves serious questions about the status of partnerships Tata and the county manager had worked together to develop. In short, Coble tells the school board to get its act together and resolve three specific issues. Then, and only then, Coble writes, will it be appropriate to discuss a capital plan.
Kudos to Commissioner Coble for taking a serious approach to serious issues and for making it clear the commission will not engage in time-wasting games with the school board.
