Rand Paul wants to create jobs, but not for government. He says America is great because we embrace freedom, we enshrined it in our documents, and we’ve fought for its principles. America will remain great if its citizens protect the system of free enterprise that has made the country great. America will remain great when we understand government cannot create prosperity. It comes from ourselves, not government. We cannot protect and defend our liberties until we understand that.
Paul has great confidence in America. We must not believe that some distant benevolent leader in a remote capital will somehow make us great. He quoted Jefferson saying, “He governs best who governs least.” America can rise up and surmount its current problems if the people just get government out of the way.
He says we must believe in ourselves, but asked God to bless America.
