Yesterday, it seemed like a lot of the hairy issues hanging over Asheville were getting resolved. Today, it seems everybody wants to appeal (1, 2) the court decisions, so we’re back where we were.
Our civil society is supposed to replace might-makes-right with something more like sense-makes-right. Instead, today I feel we would do just as well to skip all those legal gyrations and replace the court system with transparent extortion where whoever pays lawyers the most wins.
