Actually, that’s its aim: to outlaw speech that doesn’t comport with the Left’s multi-cultural, victimization world view.

Every speech code, every piece of hate-crime legislation that criminalizes thought and speech, every non-legislative form of coercion in the work place or in schools, is aimed at stopping ideas with which the Left disagrees.

Rowan Atkinson understands this. He’s famous for playing Mr. Bean and The Black Adder, but he’s in the tradition of John Peter Zenger in his newest role:

“The devil, as always, will be in the detail but the casual ease which some people move from finding something offensive to wishing to declare it criminal — and are then able to find factions within government to aid their ambitions — is truly depressing.”

Indeed.
